Dance Find a Space
The OFA Dance Program is located at the Harvard Dance Center (HDC), 66 Garden Street, Cambridge, MA. The Dance Center has three studios used for courses by OFA Dance and the Theater, Dance & Media (TDM) Department. OFA headquarters at 74 Mt. Auburn also houses the Director’s Studio which can be reserved for dance.

The Harvard Dance Center (HDC) and its studios are a shared community space that host Theater, Dance, & Media (TDM) curricular courses and offerings. Studio reservations must be approved through or arranged by TDM staff. Please read the 2025-26 Harvard Dance Studio Handbook for full instructions on reserving studio space. If you have questions about HDC spaces, email TDM staff at tdm_spaces@fas.harvard.edu.
Studio Descriptions
Studio 1
Largest sprung-floor studio, with Marley and performance amenities (hard-soled shoes NOT permitted).
Studio 2
Medium-sized sprung-floor studio, with Marley (hard-soled shoes permitted).
Studio 3
Smaller studio with corking flooring and a raised platform with thicker Marley (hard-soled shoes permitted).
Dance Center Studio Hours (Spring 2026 term)
Monday-Sunday: 8:30am-11:45pm
The Harvard Dance Center is open and available to students during the academic year. For booking space during academic year breaks, including reading and exam periods, please consult the Dance Center Office at tdm_spaces@fas.harvard.edu.
Reservations
All individuals and groups reserving studio space must read the 2025-26 Harvard Dance Studio Handbook and agree in writing to comply with dance studio policies and protocols before their first reservation.
All individuals and groups must designate a representative who will be responsible for communicating and upholding the guidelines during the use of the studio, as well as reporting back to TDM staff (tdm_spaces@fas.harvard.edu) any issues that arose with the Harvard Dance Center spaces. Group representatives should preferably be directors or board members.
For Student-Led Dance Groups
Officially recognized student-led dance groups have access to request space directly via RoomBook. At the start of each semester, these groups may book a recurring, weekly reservation using the Recurring Reservation Request Form (please email tdm_spaces@fas.harvard.edu to request the form). Additional time requests are managed in RoomBook.
Required Trainings for Student-Led Dance Groups Using Studio Spaces: All groups must also attend an Orientation on using the studios in community held at Harvard Dance Center on Thursday, September 4, 4-5pm, at Harvard Dance Center. All groups must also send a representative to the OFA Dance Program's Disability Inclusion Workshop held at Smith Campus Center on Monday, September 8, 6-7:30pm.
For Individuals and Other Groups
For Harvard affiliates not in a student-led dance group looking to reserve studio space, you may submit a request in the Ad Hoc Request Form.
Accessibility
The Harvard Dance Center's main floor with Studio 1 is fully accessible for wheelchairs and mobility devices. If you require elevator access to Studios 2 and 3 on the lower level, please reach out tdm_spaces@fas.harvard.edu for arrangements.

The Office for the Arts at Harvard (OFA) Director's Studio at the OFA Main Office (74 Mt. Auburn St.) is managed by the OFA. If you have questions about the OFA Director's Studio space, please email OFA staff at dance@fas.harvard.edu.

Saturday: 9:15am-10:50pm
Sunday: 10:15am-10:50pm
Accessibility
Please note that the OFA Director’s Studio at 74 Mt. Auburn St. is not wheelchair accessible (stairs only). If you anticipate needing any additional type of access to either building, please email both dance@fas.harvard.edu and tdm_spaces@fas.harvard.edu for arrangements. The staff at the Dance Center is happy to talk to you or your group about practices for disability inclusion and access.
