Academic Collaborations
Each year, the Ceramics Program opens its doors to faculty and students from Harvard University departments to provide an interactive lab environment and resource for the history, chemistry, and technology behind working with clay. Students involved in Anthropology and Archeology, Humanities, Art History, Visual Art, History, Education and Engineering courses have interacted with the studio to learn more about the science and techniques used in field of ceramics. Scholars from the Graduate School of Design have utilized the Program as a lab to investigate the intersection of ceramic materials with robotic and 3D printing technologies. The Harvard Art Museums and Museums of Science and Culture at Harvard regularly collaborate with the Program on many special topics.
If you are interested in a collaborative project between your course and the Ceramics Program, contact Director Kathy King or phone 617-496-4751.
