Arts in the Houses

Creativity coming to a House near you!

Harvard has a long history of art spaces and creative engagement in the residential House system. Each of the Houses holds creative spaces such as wood turning studios, ceramics studios, dance studios, visual arts studios, screening rooms, performance spaces, exhibition space, music practice rooms, and more.

The OFA believes that art and creativity is an intrinsic part of life and supports the integration of the arts into all aspects of the student experience including residential life.

The OFA supports arts and creativity in the Houses through co-sponsorship of art events, production and performance support, workshops in the ceramics studios and art studios, and support of spaces such as Adams House Pool Theater and Cabbot House Theater as well as programs such as the Lowell House Opera, the Jazz Combo Initiative in Leverett House, and Harvard College Steel Pan Ensemble in Adams House.

Have an idea for Arts in the Houses?

Let’s connect! We would love to discuss and consider with you what deep, sustained creative arts engagement could look like for your community this coming year. Please reach out to Stephanie Troisi, OFA Student Services Coordinator to talk, brainstorm, and collaborate! We’re excited to partner with you.
