Yolanda "Yyoyo" Roberson
Yolanda Roberson also known as 'Yyoyo', is a dancer, performer, and teacher, and native of Roxbury and Dorchester, MA. Yyoyo got her start as a child performer at the age of 8. She performed as a dancer and won the Roller Kingdom dance contest every Friday in Hudson, MA, and got her early start background-dancing for various local singers. In 2020, Yyoyo was featured on HBOMAX's Legendary with The House of Escada, making it to the final episode for 3rd place. She has been a featured performer in Queer Bodies in Motion’s Rainbowland at the American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.); Trojan Magnum’s Naked promotional campaign; 106 & Park music award show’s 1st place winners; and in numerous tours, videos, and productions across the U.S. Yyoyo also created the first get-down for the Waacking community in Boston known as 'Waacking Sessions' in 2018. She along with crew New Skool Assassins won the opportunity to guest perform at the legendary street dance battle SDK (Steet Dance Kemp in the Czech Republic) in 2013. She has competed and performed in dance battles in a range of dance styles– from Waacking, House, and Vogue– in Germany, Czech Republic, and France as well as in various cities across the U.S.
