Liza Zayas-Sellers
Liza Zayas-Sellers is a poet and DJ performing as Luna del Flor. She holds the honor of being named one of Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum's Neighborhood Salon Luminaries and was selected by The Lawrence Arts Collective as one of their 2023 Social Practice Artists in Residence.
Zayas-Sellers is a featured writer and performer on House music releases, and has supported Boston's art scenes since the 1990's in the roles of curator, producer, stage manager, talent coordinator, hostess, performer and/or DJ. She co-founded the events Release Your Dance, ERATO and, most recently, Soulphisticated, with her husband, Caleaf Sellers. She is the creatrix of Bohemian Botanica, an event which showcases diverse artists and which has held space in Boston, Lawrence, MA and Brooklyn, New York.
She has performed at events for VDay One Billion Rising, International Women’s Day and at Indigenous Peoples Day events, Boston's Celebrity Series and BAMSFest. Zayas-Sellers was an invited speaker for the Brimmer May Bissell Grogan Symposium and her poem "Beautiful Petals'' was selected by the Creatives of Color Boston for their exhibition "Blooming Truths." She has performed at the art exhibit "Hopscotch" at Lasell University and New York's NYC Culture Club, and has been a featured poet at Boston's MassArt Art Museum's series "Drawing Together". In 2023, she was the musical curator for the Peabody Essex Museum's Latin Heritage night and performed her work "Descendants of Genocidal Colonization."
She currently performs pieces from her book "For the Joyous and the Glorious."
