Ashot Gheridian

Ashot Gheridian was born in Armenia and emigrated to the US at a young age. He has been living in the Boston area where he earned an MBA and Master's in Education. Now that he has retired from public education where he was a high school English teacher, he spends the majority of his days in the ceramics studio working with clay; his passion and his meditation and some might say obsession. 

Ashot emulates and creates beautiful and complex shapes that reflect the sensation of the soaring towers of modern architecture and the fluidity, geometry, and expressionism of 20th century decorative and visual arts. Though he will throw on the wheel when he has to, he primarily works with hand-built slab techniques. His work welcomes and challenges the viewer to see something different from every angle and discover a new possibility at every passing.
