Plant Parenthood – How to Make the Perfect Planter

This workshop has four meetings: Fridays, 6:30-9:30pm on February 27,  March 6, 13, and 27, 2026.

Brighten up your world by making a ceramic planter at the Ceramics Program! During this four-week workshop for Harvard College Undergraduates, learn to use the potter’s wheel and/or hand-building techniques to make a planter. Learn surface decoration techniques including slip application, inlay, and carving into clay. The workshop will finish with an introduction to glaze and glazing techniques to prepare for the final kiln firing! This workshop comes with 7 days of access to the Ceramics Program for the duration of the workshop to practice what you have learned! 

*No class on March 20th for Spring Break

Advance registration is required. This workshop is free and open to Harvard College Undergraduates.

Please note: This workshop is intended for Harvard College Undergraduate students who are not currently enrolled in a Ceramics Program 14-week course. If you are already enrolled in one of our popular ceramics courses, please sit this one out. To help us serve as many people as possible, we ask that you register for just one workshop.
