Greater Heights – How to make Vases, Bottles and Tall Forms

This workshop has four meetings: Fridays, 6:30-9:30pm on April 3, 10, 17, and 24, 2026.
Think big in terms of vases, bottles, and tall forms (pitchers for example) using the potter’s wheel and/or hand-building techniques such as coiling and slab building. Then, learn surface decoration techniques including slip application, inlay, and carving into the clay. The workshop will finish with an introduction to glaze and glazing techniques to prepare for the final kiln firing! This workshop just for Harvard College Undergrads comes with 7 days of access to the Ceramics Program for the duration of the workshop to practice what you have learned!
Advance registration is required. This workshop is free and open to Harvard College Undergraduates.
Note: This is an Intermediate-Advanced class. Please carefully review our definitions of experience levels for courses to ensure that you are qualified to take the course. We reserve the right to drop participants who have registered for courses they do not have the skills to meaningfully participate in.
