Bio: Concert cellist Suzanne Polk trained at The Juilliard School of Music with Harvey Shapiro and at New England Conservatory with Laurence Lesser and British cellist Colin Carr. She is the recipient of the Stamford Young Artist’s Award and is an active chamber musician and freelance artist. She has performed as a member of the Arden String Quartet, 802 String Quartet, Chamber Music Foundation of New England, Boston Ballet, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Springfield Symphony, and Vermont Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Polk served as artistic director of the ICMEC International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition at Carnegie Weill Hall and has also served as cello and chamber music faculty at the New England Conservatory Preparatory Department, The Longy School of Music, Middlebury College, University of Vermont and the International Chamber Music Festival at the St. Mark’s School. A much beloved cello teacher and chamber music coach, Suzanne truly enjoys sharing her knowledge of the craft of music making with her students.
