Lakeisha St Joy is a Haitian American afro dancer. She has always loved to dance, but officially began pursuing dance as a profession in 2017 after falling in love with afro style as an undergraduate. Through her dance company, Afrobeats Dance Boston, she has been able to thrive as a professional dancer performing and teaching. This includes as an opening act for Davido twice, in schools throughout the New England area, and at weddings and corporate organizations. As a primarily afrobeats dancer, her choreography is infused with styles from all over the continent Ghana, Nigeria, Angola, Congo, the Caribbean, Black America, and other regions of the diaspora. Dance is her freedom. Because she feels free and joyful when she dances, she wants others to feel the same, that is why she teaches and takes great pride in teaching to people of all levels and backgrounds. St. Joy has also taught Afro Fusion 101 workshop for the OFA Dance Program.
