Bio: One of the area's most versatile musicians, Katherine Matasy has been described by the Boston Globe as "a musician of depth and refinement" with "technique to burn."  As clarinetist/bass clarinetist and classical accordionist, she has performed in chamber music and orchestra settings with most of the region's major organizations, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Boston Symphony Chamber Players, Boston Lyric Opera, BMOP, Huntington Theater, and American Repertory Theater, among many others.  Highly regarded as an interpreter of new music, she is a founding member of Dinosaur Annex and a frequent performer with Boston's many new-music groups.  Matasy has long-time faculty appointments at Wellesley College, New England Conservatory Extension and Preparatory Depts., and Community Music Center of Boston. She can be heard in recordings of orchestral and chamber music on CRI, Newport Classic, Centaur, Northeastern, Erato, Albany, Bridge, Naxos and RCA.  BM, MM, New England Conservatory.
