## Visual Arts in the Houses

The OFA works directly with Harvard’s historic and vibrant Houses to provide support and guidance to help provide a safe space for students to decompress from their rigorous studies, to foster a sense of creative community, learn new techniques and skills and promote creative thinking that students can apply to their lives and future careers.

## Studio Art

Opportunities for students to engage in studio arts are available on a co-curricular basis, mainly through the OFA’s [Ceramics Program](/ceramics), which provides instruction and studio space for ceramic art—including sculpture—in a state-of-the-art facility in Allston. Several undergraduate houses have spaces for painting, print-making, fine art letter press, wood-turning, photography and more. Cabot, Quincy and Mather Houses feature ceramics studios.

## Public Art

The OFA has a long history of supporting public art projects. Most public art supported by the OFA takes place during [Arts Fest](/arts), the annual spring festival that celebrates the creativity of students, faculty and affiliates at Harvard. *The program is currently on pause for the 2025-26 academic year.*
