## At Harvard

Opportunities for students to engage in studio arts are available on a co-curricular basis, mainly through the OFA's [Ceramics Program](/ceramics), which provides instruction and studio space for ceramic art—including sculpture—in a state-of-the-art facility in Allston. Several undergraduate houses have spaces for painting, print-making, fine art letter press, ceramics, photography and more.

In the curricular realm, the [Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies](https://afvs.fas.harvard.edu) is the home of a broad range of studio arts and more theoretical studies. The department offers studio courses in areas that include painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, design, film, video, animation and photography; and offers lecture courses and seminars in film history and theory, studies of the built and natural environment, design and urbanism and contemporary arts.

The [Bow & Arrow Press](https://library.harvard.edu/about/news/2024-06-05/bow-arrow-press-finds-permanent-home-harvard-library) in Adams House offers courses in letterpress printmaking. They also offer a Freshman Arts Seminar in the Spring.

The [Cambridge Center for Adult Education](http://www.ccae.org/) in Harvard Square also offers several arts classes at various levels.
