Welcome to the Office for the Arts. We are actively welcoming back students at a time that best suits your needs both onsite and virtually.
The Office for the Arts is open and ready to support your artmaking and answer your questions about the arts at Harvard. Find out more about the OFA and our programming, resources and arts events. In the meantime, we are doing everything possible to keep our office, staff and students safe by following the University guidelines regarding masks, air filtration and other precautions. And we are preparing for all levels of artmaking, even as we are uncertain at the moment which ones will be permitted and what space are available. For the most updated information on university-wide policies, visit the Harvard University Covid-19 Information page.
Performances, Rehearsals and Artmaking
Will I be able to perform on campus this fall?
We hope so. We miss in-person performances and rehearsals! Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) protocols are changing quickly right now, so we don’t have a definitive answer on what onsite practices will look like in the fall or how performance/rehearsal spaces will be used. Safety is the top priority. We’re working on this daily, and we encourage you to check back frequently for updates. Our goal is to support your artmaking in every way possible. We know you have many questions. We assure you that we will give you guidance as soon as FAS informs us of next steps. We’re in this together!
Visiting the OFA
Can I just walk into the OFA?
Yes, you can. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. While we encourage you to drop in any time you are nearby, it’s always a good idea to reach out to the person you are hoping to see regarding their availability. Here’s our staff list to help with that. Please feel free to suggest a virtual meeting via phone or Zoom.
What can I expect at the OFA?
Upon arriving at the OFA, you will be asked to sign in at the front desk, where someone on staff will let your contact know you have arrived. We have a socially distanced reception area for you to wait, but most meetings at the OFA take place upon your arrival.
Should I wear a mask and bring hand sanitizer?
We are following FAS guidelines, which require masking indoors. We ask that all visitors to our office wear an approved face covering during visits to the OFA. If you forget yours, we will provide you with one. [WILL WE?] Our staff will wear masks during your visit. We are aware that some visitors are exempt from face coverings. If this affects you, please discuss with an OFA staff member before your visit so that we can assure best practices for our space. We do have hand sanitizer available to all visitors.
What’s waiting for me at the OFA?
We are! We are happy that we are all safe and back on campus, and we can’t wait to make art with you.
