Bio: Unavailable for teaching during 2021-22. Yifan is an exceptional cellist, who is currently working on his DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) in University of Boston, under the guidance of Cello Master George Neikrug. Yifan was the Winner of Bach competition in his school. Prior to attending BU, Yifan studied with Aldo Parisot from Yale University and Hans Jørgen Jensen from Northwestern University. As a student, Yifan has always pushed himself to explore the possibilities of music performance, not only in the aspect of technical skills but also musical expressions. During his time in Yale, Yifan was the only student whom has been selected as the Associate Principle Cellist for Yale Cellos, founded by Aldo Parisot. Moreover, Yifan was the recipient of Aldo Parisot Prize upon graduation, which is awarded to gifted cellist who shows promise for a concert career. From these great cello legends, Yifan was greatly inspired by their passion for music and comprehensive teaching methodologies, which have also motivated him to become a cello teacher. Throughout his years of pursuit of musical aspirations, Yifan has also tutored many of his peers and students ranging from 7-year-old teens to 30-year-old adults, and from beginner levels to intermediate levels.
