Samuel Goldman Reiss ’18
A resident of Leverett House concentrating in History & Literature, is awarded a Fellowship to attend the Skidmore College Summer Writers Workshop for poetry and to research and write a collection of poems about the Delancey Street Foundation, a rehabilitation-focused alternative to prison in San Francisco, California. Reiss’s work has been featured in The Harvard Advocate, for which he served as publisher in 2016. He led an immigrants’ rights organization on campus that tutors Harvard employees to become American citizens and he has worked for the Equal Justice Initiative, Southern Poverty Law Center, and American Civil Liberties Union. Reiss plans to pursue a career in writing and public service.
