Madison Johnson ’18
An affiliate of Pforzheimer House concentrating in History & Literature, is awarded a Fellowship to attend the Sarah Lawrence Summer Seminar on Screenwriting and write a screenplay and mixed-media poetry installation about soulfood and queer and trans black life in the American Southeast. Johnson’s poetry has been published in Muzzle Magazine, The Tinderbox Poetry Journal, and The Shade Poetry Journal, and has also written, set-designed, and directed plays with the A.R.T. and Harvard’s Black C.A.S.T. They recently completed a senior thesis on spatial memory and black life in Atlanta and Stone Mountain, Georgia, and plans to pursue a career in writing and arts education.
