Administrative Assistant for Dance
Young Black woman smiling big with her eyes squinting shut. She wears a blue and pink heart-print shirt, silver heart dangly earrings, two braids, and glasses.

Dara Badon '22 is responsible for fielding general inquiries through the Harvard Dance Center's main email and phone, supporting office operations and archival systems, coordinating studio reservation schedules, liaising with student-led dance groups, and assisting with Dance Center programs, promotional outreach, special projects, and performances.

Dara is a recent alum of Harvard College, where she studied History & Literature, Educational Studies, and made sure to make art part of her learning, growing, and joy both in and outside of the classroom. From her academic focus that was centered around the history, artistry, community, and identity of Black America; to her co-curricular and leadership involvements, spanning the likes of the Harvard University Band, Harvard CityStep, and the First-Year Arts Pre-Orientation Program; to even her prior role in the Office for the Arts as a Student Production Assistant for the College Manager of Theater, Dara has consistently centered creativity and community in all of her pursuits.

The co-recipient of the 2022 Robert E. Levi Arts Prize for efforts and energies devoted to arts administration and the art-making community, Dara is thrilled to apply and hone her passions through her new professional role, and she is overjoyed and deeply honored to join the Dance Center team! She can’t wait to connect even further with dance at Harvard and especially the incredible people who make it what it is, and she’s excited to cheer on, collaborate with, learn from, and get to know all who are or have yet to get involved!
