Adams House Arts Space
The Arts Space, located in Adams House courtyard between Dunster and Linden streets, 26 Linden Street, is housed in the former squash court building - the brick building to the left of Apthorp House - the big yellow house in Adams House Randolph Courtyard - behind the VES Studios. After an interior renovation, it now hosts student artwork and home a creative maker space for undergrads. THIS SPACE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION.
The painting studio is located on the second floor of the Art Space in the room on the right. Canvases, paints, reference books, collage materials, and other artmaking tools are available for students and affiliated members. All are welcome to come in and paint, work on a project, brainstorm, or work on homework in a different setting.
The D.Lab is located on the second floor of the Arts Space. Currently, under-construction, the maker space is home to state of the art design technology - with various machines: 3D printer, Heat Engravers and Sewing Machine. The D.Lab is a place to explore and experiment with the latest technology through the various computer aided programs. Our machines have the latest 3D software - Sketchup, Rhino, Revit, 3D Cad, Adobe Creative Suite and Professional Movie Maker.
The Adams Art Space hosts two large gallery spaces that expand the entire bottom floor of the building. One space has been renovated for gallery use - lighting, easy display, and projection screen. The other space is a service/set/squash-court. Students and affiliates are encouraged to submit ideas for exhibitions and solo art showcases.
