The Harvard College Opera in partnership with the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study is excited to present the 2017 HCO spring recital! Voicing the City: A Journey Through Song
As part of Radcliffe's symposium titled Intersections: Understanding Urbanism in the Global Age, this recital seeks to explore the urban through music. Whether it's dreaming of the city, coming to the city, being happy in the city, or being heartbroken, composers over the ages have written poignantly of the places in which they lived and worked. Bernstein's New York City, Puccini's Paris, and Britten's Venice all come to life through the music they left behind. Featuring an ensemble of undergraduate singers from Harvard's campus, this recital is not to be missed! Come and listen to some city magic through the voices of HCO's wonderful singers.
