Friday, April 5, 2019, 11:00am to 12:00pm
Art Study Center, Harvard Art Museums, 32 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA 02138
Jessie Park, the Rousseau Curatorial Fellow in European Art, and Kirsten Burke, a Ph.D. student in the Department of History of Art and Architecture at Harvard, will explore new ways of seeing medals as they intersect with other artistic media. A rare opportunity to engage with these small works up close, this seminar will illuminate the importance of medals as artistic masterpieces, technological innovations, and identity-makers, from which various social and political implications were generated in surprising and compelling ways. The seminar will take place in the Art Study Center, Level 4. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. For more information, click here.
