When the October Revolution overturned the longstanding Russian Empire 100 years ago, posters were particularly useful for getting messages and ideas across to a largely illiterate population. This exhibition explores the hope and passion of the Soviet Union’s early years, as well as the tensions inherent to building a new nation.
Join us for a reception featuring a presentation by Terry Martin, George F. Baker III Professor of Russian Studies at Harvard University and former Director of the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies.
