Harvard alumnae Tori Keenan-Zelt ’06, a playwright and Co-Artistic Director of Panglossian Productions in Williamsburg, VA, and Alison Rich ’09, writer for “Saturday Night Live” and a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York and Los Angeles, will discuss their work, with advice on how to break into the business and build a career as a writer for TV, film and the stage. Moderated by Gail Gilmore, Assistant Director of Career Services, Arts, Journalism, Museums, Publishing, Social Services at OCS.

Tori Keenan-Zelt ’06 writes question-based plays that chart emotional territory through heightened theatrical worlds. Many of them decide to be comedies. Recent work includes “Catfight” (Yale Cabaret), “The Egypt Play” (Development: Lark Roundtables, Williamstown Theater Festival, Somersault, Sanctuary), “Truth Dare...”(Kilroys Nominee, Princess Grace Finalist, Best Ensemble, Pittsburgh Fringe, Dixon Place), “Everything You Were Looking For” (NYMadness), and others. She writes for Colonial Williamsburg’s Emmy Award-winning education series, and is a proud member of Bastard Playground, Part-Time Box, Propulsion Lab, the Actors Studio Playwright/Directors Unit and the Dramatists Guild. Currently she is developing an original web series with Stage17TV and is a 2014-2015 member of Nashville Rep's Ingram New Works Lab. Some of her short plays are published by Next Stage Press. Keenan-Zelt is also founding Co-Artistic Director of Panglossian Productions, a non-profit global/local company developing new work in Williamsburg, VA.

Alison Rich '09 is an actor, writer, and improviser. She got her start at Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) NY as an improviser on “Harold Night” (Creature, Rocks) and a writer-actor on “Maude Night” (Dweeb, Charlemagne, Hunk). She won the UCB NBC Diversity Showcase in 2012, and then moved to LA to perform in the CBS Diversity Showcase. She currently performs with the UCB LA Maude Team Tut. Rich can be seen in the upcoming Paramount produced sitcom “Resident Advisors” and her MTV web series “Peaked,” which she wrote and co-created with Nicole Byer. She and collaborator Andrew Law won the IFC “Out of the Box” development deal at the New York Television Festival for their web series “Incognito.” Other credits include staff writing for “Saturday Night Live” and the “Funny or Die” show “Billy on the Street,” and appearing on “Best Week Ever” and “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.”
