Rachel Chavkin and Dave Malloy have collaborated on a number of original theater productions, including the critically acclaimed and immersively staged electro-pop opera Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, which made Top Ten 2012 and 2013 lists in The New York Times, Time Out New York and New York Post, and which earned the duo an Obie Award. Their most recent project, Preludes, about the composer Rachmaninoff and hypnotism, premiered last spring at LCT3, Lincoln Center, New York. They will discuss working on Natasha, Pierre—which will be presented by the American Repertory Theater December 6-January 3—as well as other projects both together and outside of their partnership during a conversation moderated by Ryan McKittrick, A.R.T. Director of Artistic Programs/Dramaturg.
