This retrospective reconsiders the history and legacy of that singular mode of low-budget filmmaking invented within the Hollywood studio system and kindled long after as an ideal and an inspiration by diverse filmmakers from Jean-Luc Godard and Seijun Suzuki to Hartmut Bitomsky and Kathryn Bigelow. Tickets: $9 general admission; $7 non-Harvard students, Harvard faculty & staff, and senior citizens. Free for Harvard students with valid student ID.
