Tableware 101

Course description: This beginning to intermediate level class will explore the functional object and its relationship to the dinner table. Special attention will be paid to creating properly functioning forms such as bowls, plates, cups, and more. Methods of throwing, trimming, hand building and a variety of finishing techniques will be demonstrated and discussed. (8 classes/10weeks) Note: There will be no class on Wednesday, July 4th for Independence Day holiday.

 

Course Fees: $125 for Harvard Undergraduate Students, $250 for Harvard Graduate Students, $820 for Adult Community, TAP Regular and Long Service - Follow instructions in on-line registration system for pricing.

Your course fee covers use of all clays (terra cotta, stoneware, sculpture body, porcelain), bisque firing, glazes and glaze firing up to 7,270 cu. inches of kiln space as well as 7 day access to the ceramics program and its equipment.
