Day/Time: Wednesdays, 10:00am – 1:00pm

Course Description:
This class format focuses on breaking old habits and considering new directions to take our work, including utility, form, and surface. Students will be challenged to refine and rework ideas through exercises and group critique. Though demonstrations will primarily be wheel throwing, hand builders are welcome. Many of the concepts we will discuss are widely applicable, but demonstrations and exercises will focus on the wheel as a tool. The class will be composed of demonstrations (including topics based on student input), group discussion and critique, and one-on-one instructor assistance. Group critiques will be planned throughout the 12 class meetings to share experiences and celebrate progress.
