Course description: This course is primarily a studio class structured around student proposals for a current body of work in combination with thematic assignments. Assignments will highlight and examine advanced process-based learning involving surface techniques, altered or complex forms, basic mold making and glazing techniques. (8 classes/10 weeks) Note: There will be no class on Wednesday, November 21st for Thanksgiving Break.
Course Fees: $125 for Harvard Undergraduate Students, $275 for Harvard Graduate Students, $900 for Adult Community, TAP Regular and Long Service - Follow instructions in online registration system for pricing.
Your course fee covers use of all clays (terra cotta, stoneware, sculpture body, porcelain), bisque firing, glazes and glaze firing up to 8,000 cu. inches of kiln space as well as 7-day access to the ceramics program and its equipment from the start date of your class to December 1st. Opportunities to exhibit your work or view the work of your fellow studio participants will be available during our Holiday Show and Sale on December 6 – 9th!
