Course description: This course will focus on forms used for entertaining - platters, plates, trays, bowls, candlesticks, among others. The relationship between forms made for food/drink, the environment they are intended to exist in and how we interact with these forms will be a key point of conversation. Special demonstrations and presentations will occur throughout the semester with special guests from the culinary and decorative fields. Innovative glazing and finishing techniques will also be covered in this class. (12 classes/14 weeks) Note: There will be no class on Wednesday, March 14th for the National Conference for Education in the Ceramic Arts.
