## Class Description

Learn the art of Vogue in this vibrant and inclusive all-levels class. Vogue is an American dance form originating from Harlem, NY, in the1980s and created by Black and Latinx LGBTQ communities. Innovated in the face of hardships, Vogue was born of pure resilience, grace, poise, and presentation. It has evolved into many categories and in each generation, Vogue continues to evolve.

In this class, students will learn Vogue original movements, style, and culture, including the concept of ‘Shade’, a term that is used to throw a silent slur with a competitive outcome. Students will explore how images turn into poses and expressions, from spiritual concepts to the physical embodiment of whatever one wishes to become. No previous dance experience necessary.
