## Class Description

A slow all-levels class offering a somatic approach to movement based in ballet principles. Centering breath and building from the floor to the barre, a yogic inspired warm-up will guide dancers to connect to their bodies from the inside out. Prioritizing anatomical awareness, strength-building, and safe alignment, this class will use ballet logic and vocabulary to develop the foundation for classical ballet technique as an introduction to the form; or for experienced dancers, a welcomed space to organize the body and refine your practice. No previous dance experience necessary.

Thursday, 6:30-8:00pm

**Important Note on Dates:** No classes held the week of February 9-14 or the week of March 16-21.

## Location

Studio 1, Harvard Dance Center, 66 Garden St., Cambridge, MA

## Suggested Attire

Something comfortable to move in, e.g. dance/yoga/workout wear. Socks and or ballet shoes recommended.

## What You'll Need For Participation

You're encouraged to bring your own water bottle.
