Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel and Los Angeles Philharmonic President Deborah Borda are widely credited with leading the most successful symphonic organization in the country, designing a forward-thinking and innovative approach to shaping the role of orchestras in the 21st century. They will discuss the many aspects of their work together, which includes running the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles inspired by Venezuela’s El Sistema music education program promoting social development for children and teens.
