"Anomie" was selected to be performed at the Festival's Gala Performance.Listening to the adjudicators at the American College Dance Festival, I couldn't help but smile when I heard noted performer, teacher and choreographer Bill Evans state that, in his 30 years of attending and judging dances for ACDFA, the level of ballet performance and technique presented by a college had never matched what he saw that day in Anomie. My dancers' technical proficiency and exquisite grace and professionalism (in both Anomie and Ricky Kuperman '11’s finely crafted to dust) was indeed at a very high level, but it was their camaraderie, affection and respect for one another that struck me most as I watched them perform. It was a thrill to be part of the festival as a guest choreographer and alum, and most rewarding to see dance at Harvard recognized for what so many have already appreciated.
