Theater director John Tiffany, currently a visiting fellow at Harvard's Radcliffe Institute and subject of a Harvard Arts Beat profile on November 26 by Katherine Agard, will direct a stage adaptation of the sleeper indie film Once according to an entry posted on the New York Times arts blog on January 10. The show, featuring songs by the film's stars, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, is planning a fall opening at a theater on Broadway. One other Harvard Once connection: according to the Times, a workshop of the musical will be produced at the American Repertory Theater this spring.
