Lowell Opera scenes: Turning up the volume in the library

by Sheema Golbaba

Rehearsals were afoot this week for Lowell House Opera's Volumes: Opera Scenes in the Library, which is free and runs two nights only: 8 p.m. Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16 in the Lowell House Library, 10 Holyoke Place. At the heart of the show are several of history's most celebrated works: Jules Massenet's Cendrillon, Fromental Halevy's La Juive, Wolfgang Mozart's Die Zauberflote, Domenico Cimarosa's Il Matrimonio Segreto, Gioachino Rossini's Il Turco in Italia, and Carl Maria von Weber's Der Freischutz. Decor, diversity and diva-quality voices drive the show. Below is a mashup of scenes of the scenes!
