Liz Lerman: Healing our historical lens through art

by Sheema Golbaba

For a week in November, Harvard’s Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts was occupied by Healing Wars, a five-floor installation directed by renowned choreographer Liz Lerman. Lerman, an Artist-in-Residence at Harvard this fall, developed the piece as an exploration - through an artistically provocative lens - of warfare and its history. Lerman and Zena Mengesha ’14 reflect on how art may change the ways in which we approach our war history - and perhaps our history overall.
