Ruth Bauer has a vision : transform the Loeb lobby from a huge empty space filled with high heeled 'theater goers' to a space packed with found art, Dada and energy. She enlisted students to help with this additional component for the production of "The Blue Flower," which opens Dec. 1 at American Repertory Theater.
The lobby project began in earnest when a group of students, including me, raided the Adams Art Space for whatever we could find.
Metal birds, foam pig heads, rotting leather ice skates, spiked wooden blocks, film reels, orange chalkdust - this is what we found, and these objects will be used in the Loeb as part of the final installation for the show.
