Biopsee, or Nancy Selvage's vision

by Scott Lozier

Sculptor Nancy Selvage is "compelled to see things more intensely" and "to coalesce moments of clarity out of the complexity of experience." Her piece "Biopsee" (above) was featured in a monthlong show of her work earlier this month at the Boston Sculptors Gallery. But Nancy, program director and instructor at the Ceramics Program of the Office for the Arts, offered such inspiring insights into the thoughts of an artist that we want to share this short video. Even as the show has closed, Nancy's ideas compel us to see her art and artists more intensely. Plus we really like her red glasses, too. The video was recorded at Boston Sculptors Gallery while "Biopsee" was still on view. To learn more about Nancy's work, visit her Artist Website. [http://www.youtube.com/v/BdmWS-0pjWI&hl=en_US&fs=1&]
