Jason Govostes, Associate Manager and Manager of Student Ticketing Services, reports on the OFA Harvard Box Office, another in a continuing series of posts taking a look back at highlights of the 2009-10 academic year.
The 2009-10 season proved to be another busy one for the Harvard Box Office with over 90,000 patrons attending events taking place at over 80 venues with tickets obtained through the Box Office.
Some of the more popular events ticketed this year: Jane Goodall (Jane Goodall Institute), opera singer Renée Fleming (Learning From Performers), Microsoft founder Bill Gates (Office of the President), jazz artist Joanna Newsom (World Music), Noam Chomsky (Harvard Extension Student Association), Mythbusters Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage (Harvard Humanist Chaplaincy) and the Harvard South Asian Association’s annual production of Ghungroo.
The Box Office continues to foster positive working relationships with many producers. This year the HBO worked with over 150 different producers to publicize and facilitate ticketing to 483 of their performances and events on the Harvard campus.
Check out our home page at www.boxoffice.harvard.edu. Patrons and producers alike can access information about Box Office services and event listings, and view venue seating charts. Tickets can be purchased online for certain events or you may contact us directly by calling 617.496.2222 or by stopping by the Box Office, located at 1350 Massachusetts Avenue in Harvard Square, during regular business hours.
Looking for something to do this summer? The Box Office will be ticketing the Harvard-Radcliffe Summer Theatre (HRST) productions of Speech & Debate (7/2-7/10), The Real Thing (7/16-7/24), and The Rocky Horror Show (7/30-8/13). Contact the Box Office for more info.
