Michael Hunt and Naomi Dalglish of [Bandana Pottery](https://bandanapottery.com) collaborate in making functional pottery. They combine coarse local clays, white slips and ash glazes to make deeply layered surfaces. Their studio is located in the mountains near Penland, North Carolina.

In their studio practice, they make pots using a wide variety of methods - throwing off the hump, molding, carving from solid clay, and throwing and altering. Each method brings its own opportunities for exploring expressive qualities and idea-generating. In this workshop, they will demonstrate and play with all these techniques, and there will be the opportunity for short hands-on exercises. We will also explore slip decorating! All levels welcome.

For those not registered with the Ceramics Program, work can be bisque-fired for an additional cost.

This workshop is appropriate for makers with [beginning – advanced](https://ofa.fas.harvard.edu/ceramics/definition-experience-levels) experience working with clay.

**Workshop Cost: $250 for adults and Harvard Graduate students enrolled in a course at the Ceramics Program, $300.00 for those not enrolled in a course, and $50 for Harvard College Undergraduates.** **Registration will open on** **Friday, July 31 at 10:00am.**
