ARTS FIRST sticker design contest!

ARTS FIRST 2020Are you a Harvard undergraduate into graphic design? Do you like the color purple?  Then enter a contest to design a sticker to be distributed during the ARTS FIRST Festival, Harvard's annual celebration of student and faculty creativity! This is a chance to have your work featured as one of the official stickers for the festival, which features 2,000+ student artists and arts leaders, and hosts up to 15,000 attendees. 

Winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to a local art store and will be featured in promotional and marketing material related to the festival, including the ARTS FIRST guide. Imagine a campus-wide distribution of hundreds of stickers with your design!

Submission Deadline: January 22, 2020

How to Enter
To enter the contest, eligible particpants must create a sticker design that follows the rules and guidelines below. Submit your questions and final design to Marin Orlosky Randow, ARTS FIRST Coordinator, at by January 22. Please also include your name, class year, contact information and links to any website or social media platforms where your artwork is displayed.

ARTS FIRST is produced by the Office for the Arts, with support from the Board of Overseers of Harvard University. The spring festival – one of the largest student festivals in the nation – is a public event with many free performances and activities for Harvard and community members of all ages. 

Rules and Guidelines


  • The design must fit within a 2-inch circle sticker. 
  • "ARTS FIRST" must appear on the sticker design. Note: ARTS FIRST must be in all caps. 
  • Art files in .psd, .ai, .eps, .jpg, .tif, and .pdf formats are all accepted. Note: the submission must be a high-resolution format. See toolkit below.

Additional Rules:
To be eligible, each entrant must be a currently registered undergraduate at Harvard University. All submitted work must be the original work of the entrant and must not include, be based on or derived from any pre-existing or third-party designs, trademarks, or copyrighted images. All entries will become the property of the Office for the Arts at Harvard. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees that any and all intellectual property rights in the logo design are deemed assigned to the Office for the Arts. Except where prohibited by law, an entry submission into this contest constitutes permission to use the winner’s name, prize information and information provided on the entry form for publicity purposes, without further permission or compensation.
