Bio: Mr. Dornescu has received his Doctorate in Violin performance from Boston University College of Fine Arts in May 2013, studio of Dana Mazurkevich. In 2007, Mr. Dornescu has received his MM from Rice University, Shepherd School of Music in Houston, TX, studio of Sergiu Luca. Mr. Dornescu received his BM in Violin performance from the National University of Music from Bucharest, Romania in 2007. A prize winner in competitions such as 'J.S. Bach" (Boston University) and 'G.Avakian' (Bucharest, Romania) , Mr. Dornescu has performed in venues such as Jordan Hall and Symphony Hall (Boston), the Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), Zilka Hall, L.H. Duncan Recital Hall, Stude Concert Hall (Houston, TX), the Concertgebow (Amsterdam, Netherlands), National Concert Hall (Dublin, Ireland), among many others. Equally at home as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, Mr. Dornescu has performed in the U.S. and in Europe in countries such as Germany, France, Holland, Italy, Ireland and Switzerland. Recent festivals include the Castleton Festival (VA), Spoleto USA (Charleston, SC) and the Yehudi Menuhin Summer Academy in Blonay (Switzerland). Mr. Dornescu has actively participated in masterclasses with artists such as: Ilya Kaler, Sergiu Schwartz, Yuri Mazurkevich, Alberto Lyssy and others. His current professional engagements include memberships and constant appearances with the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, Plymouth Philharmonic, Claflin Hill, Indian Hill, BU Marsh Chapel Collegium, among others.
