Bio: Renee Tatum is a professional singer and teacher of voice and acting with over 17 years of professional performance and vast teaching experience while in school and professional programs. She has experience in vocal pedagogy (including the teaching of young voices), private studio instruction, public speaking, diction and role/repertoire selection. She believes that good breath support is the basis of any quality singing. Renee holds an A.D. in Opera Studies from The Juilliard School, a Master of Music (M.M.) and P.S. from The Manhattan School of Music in Voice Performance, and a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) from California State University Fullerton. She is a recent graduate of the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Program and the San Francisco Opera Adler Fellowship. Ms. Tatum has also studied Alexander Technique while at Juilliard, as well as private study of breath in singing with Deborah Birnbaum, breath coach. Ms. Tatum currently studies with master teacher Patricia McCaffrey in NYC. Renee is a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists. She regularly performs with such companies as: The Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Seattle Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Washington National Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Toledo Opera, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, San Diego Symphony, Pacific Symphony, BYSO, Rochester Philharmonic, Omaha Symphony and many more.
