Sculpting the Head

Course description: In this course, students will sculpt the head in clay. A basic construction format will be presented. The instructor will demonstrate techniques for modeling human features, and then students will use these techniques to create their own sculptures. As the course progresses, students will make additional heads working directly from the model. At the end of the class, students finish and hollow out their sculptures and prepare them for the firing process. 12 classes/14 weeks.
