The Narrative Vessel

Course description: Join internationally recognized ceramic artist, Mark Burns, in exploring the narrative vessel form. This course will utilize hand building and sculptural techniques to create vessels that, in some way, convey a narrative. Subject matter will explore both personal and subjective themes. The history of narrative and storytelling through imagery and form on the ceramic vessel is a rich one and will be investigated within this class. Discussions of surface, color, and application techniques will be included at multiple firing temperatures. 10 classes/12weeks.
