Wood Firing workshop with Kusakabe, Masakazu in our efficient smokeless wood firing kiln, designed and built by Kusakabe, Masakazu himself. Three wood firings are scheduled along with a glazing session starting October 31, 2009.

Firing Workshop fee (for one or more of the three firings)
for Ceramics Program participants: $35 for 1 firing, $65 for 2 firings, $90 for 3 firings
for others: $50 for 1 firing, $85 for 2 firings, $120 for 3 firings
PLUS Fee for volume of work fired in the kiln (participants will share the available space):
5 cents/cubic inch (measured by multiplying the length x the width x the height)

In summer 2009, in pursuit of a greener studio practice, the Ceramics Program at Harvard has launched a joint venture with Noble and Greenough School to construct an efficient and sustainable wood-firing kiln with the pioneering kiln designer and builder, Kusakabe, Masakazu.
